Who We Are

Pacific Landing is a blossoming management and development company in Victoria, BC. with a true family atmosphere. We are made up of 3 company partners, a construction team and a marketing & sales team. Here is a little about us.

Meet the Partners

Randy Royer

Randy Royer has spent over 50 years working in all aspects of the hospitality industry with an emphasis on development, finance, and management. He started by washing glasses, before dishwashers, for the bar in his fathers hotel. By age 12, he was 6 feet tall and working as a bouncer for the bar.  Randy moved on up the corporate ladder over the years and in the early 90’s co-founded and served as the President and CEO of the Royal Host Real Estate Investment Trust. Royal Host was a publicly traded hospitality trust.

Throughout his career, Randy has conceived, defined, financed, constructed and managed over 30 hotels including the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort and the Grand Okanagan Resort in Kelowna, which was ultimately sold for a profit of $100M. Mr. Royer excels at identifying consumer trends and turning those insights into a profitable development vision.

In 2007 Randy purchased a 12 acre property in Colwood and over the next few years the concept of Pacific Landing was formed.  In a recent interview we did with Randy on Pacific Landing, he said “my favourite part is that I have two children that work in the company, that’s a dream I didn’t even dare dream.”

Dale Fish

Dale Fish has over 50 years in the construction industry. He started working for his fathers eves-troughing business at 9 years old and helped run the company through his teenage years. In his early 20s he moved to Calgary, Alberta and became a framer. Over the years Dale progressed up to superintendent and eventually into project management and development. In 2004, with business partner John Mummery, Dale founded JDL Construction Management. JDL constructed many condominiums and retirement complex’s throughout the Okanagan valley.

Dale first started working with Randy Royer back in the late 1980s when they built the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort. They worked together on countless hotels across Canada, the US and Mexico, most notably the Grand Okanagan in Kelowna, BC. After almost 10 years apart Randy and Dale have reunited and partnered up, along with Ray Parks, to bring Pacific Landing to life.

In our Best in the Business series – part 2, Dale spoke about Pacific Landing. He went in depth on the construction process, discussed the wonderful family aspect of Pacific Landing and gave an overall project update. Before wrapping up he added that “The design on phase 2 is one of the nicest designs for a building that I have seen in a long time.”

Ray Parks

Ray started out on Quadra Island and then Port Alberni before coming to Victoria to finish his university education. “For me it was the most beautiful place” Ray stated about Victoria in a recent interview. After university Ray began a career in the Government. Throughout the years he got the chance to manage the construction of various jails and courthouses in the province. He learned the business and found he quite enjoyed it.  Ray saw an opportunity to do his own little projects and got into buying and fixing up houses. After retiring from the Government, Ray wanted to keep busy and began his own consulting company.

Ray Parks is the President of BIM Consulting, which provides government relations, strategic planning, and project management advice to management teams in Victoria, BC. He is also the former CEO of the British Columbia Provincial Capital Commission and is the former Executive Director of the British Columbia Gaming Association. Ray was appointed a Royal Roads Fellow of Royal Roads University in 2009 and he holds key community development relationships for Pacific Landing.

Ray is featured in our third installment of Pacific Landings’ The Best in the Business blog. In the interview Ray said that he “think[s] the challenge with the project is that it is going to be hard to find another one. How do we top this, how do we better what we have done and how do we take what we have learned here and use it someplace else to build a better project”. This is where Ray spends most of his time for Pacific Landing, “looking for that property and looking for the challenge.”
